Introduction of vitamins.

Vitamins

Vitamins are essential organic nutriets that are needed by the body in very small amounts. They contain no calories(energy) and have different functions in the body.

There are 2 classes of vitamins

Fat Soluble & Water Soluble

Solubility refers to the characteristics of the vitamins.

How they're absorbed, stored and excreted from the body.

Fat Soluble Vitamins
Fat Soluble vitamins shouldn't scare you, its not the bad fat you're thinking about.

Fat soluble vitamins are absorbed into the lymph and travel throughout the body via protein carriers. They're stored in the liver or in lipids.
